Everything buyers need to know about custom printed paper bags: minimum orders, artwork files, lead times and common pitfalls.

Custom printed paper bags are one of the fastest ways to turn packaging into advertising. But for first-time buyers, MOQ rules, artwork requirements and lead times can be confusing. Here is what you need to know before placing your order.

How MOQ is determined

Print MOQ depends on the printing method. Flexo printing suits large volumes (10,000+ bags) with simple colors. Digital printing allows lower MOQs of 500–2,000 pieces with full-color artwork, at a higher unit cost. Offset printing sits in between and is ideal for 3,000–10,000 pieces with rich color and fine detail. See our custom printed bags for options.

Artwork file requirements

Supply print-ready files in AI, PDF or CDR with fonts converted to outlines and a 3mm bleed. If you only have a logo or rough sketch, we can design the full artwork for you—this is included in our pre-production service. Always request a hard proof before mass production to confirm color and alignment.

Lead time planning

Typical timelines: artwork confirmation 2–3 days, sample 5–7 days, mass production 15–25 days depending on quantity, then sea or air freight. For seasonal promotions, start at least 60 days ahead. We share a weekly production schedule so you always know your order status.

Common pitfalls to avoid

The most frequent mistakes are: sending low-resolution JPG logos, approving without a proof, and forgetting handle and gusset dimensions. Define the flat bag size, gusset depth, handle type and hole distance clearly—small errors here cause the most rework.
